Punjab CEO reminds voters to carry EPIC or other govt IDs to polling booth

Chandigarh February 19: In order to facilitate the voter of Punjab during the Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections, the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, Dr. S. Karuna Raju has asked the voters to carry Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to establish their identity at the polling station before casting votes on Sunday.

Quoting the directions of the Election Commission of India, Mr. Raju also informed that the electors who don’t have the EPIC could cast their vote by showing either of these 12 documents as identity proof:

  1. Aadhaar card
  2. MGNREGA job card
  3. Bank or Post office passbooks with photographs
  4. Health insurance smart card issued by ministry of labour
  5. Driving licence
  6. PAN card
  7. Smart card issued by RGI under NPR
  8. Indian Passport
  9. Pension documents with photograph
  10. Service photo ID cards
  11. Official identity card issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
  12. Unique Disability ID (UDID) issued by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
