US Sikh diaspora thank Indian PM Narendra Modi for Kartarpur corridor

Chandigarh December 17, 2018: The Sikh community of the United States has thanked the Prime Minister of India,  Shri Narendra Damodar Bhai Modi for his initiative in laying the foundation stone of Kartarpur Corridor, at an event organised by Sikhs of America in the Maryland suburb of Washington.

Sikhs of America, an organisation based in the United States passed a resolution which was presented to the officials of the Indian Embassy, which read “We the Sikh diaspora are thankful to Narendra Modi and his government for realising the long-cherished dream of Sikhs in India and abroad and laying the foundation stone for the Kartarpur corridor on November 26, 2018“.

“Since the foundation stone was laid on the Pakistan side also, Sikhs across the globe are looking forward to the much-anticipated pilgrimage,” read the resolution.

Jasdip Singh, Chairman of Sikhs of America, praised the Government of India in bringing justice to the 1984 Sikh massacre and said, “For the last few months, good news has been coming for the Sikh community in India and abroad.”
