Punjab CM allows Worker Management Committees to seek Labour Work directly for 2022-23

Chandigarh, December 22: In a bid to empower labourers and ensure their welfare in the State, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has announced that labour work of State Procurement Agencies for 2022-23 can be sought by the Worker Management Committees directly, for which payment would also be made directly to them.

Pointing out further, CM Channi said that necessary provision has been incorporated in the Policy for award of labour work of the State Procurement Agencies for 2022-23 that the Worker Management Committees, across the State may directly apply for award of labour work through website https://eproc.punjab.gov.in till December 23, 2021. CM Channi hoped that this decision would go a long way to safeguard the interests of labourers thus saving them from exploitation at the hands of middlemen.
