Punjab CM mourns sad demise of former minister Inderjit Singh Zira

CHANDIGARH, MAY 12-

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday condoled the sad demise of Senior Congress Leader and former Cabinet Minister Inderjit Singh Zira (63), who passed away at a private hospital in Mohali this morning after a prolonged illness due to Cancer. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with Zira’s elder son Kulbir Singh Zira, the Congress sitting MLA from Zira Assembly Constituency, the Chief Minister said, “With the death of Inderjit Singh Zira, a void had been created within the party circles, which is difficult to be filled.”

In a condolence message, Captain Amarinder Singh described Inderjit Singh Zira as a fine human being with the qualities of head and heart beside a gentleman politician, who worked relentlessly for the welfare of all sections of the society especially the farmers and farm workers to safeguard their interests. His outstanding services towards the overall development of the Malwa region would ever be remembered by one and all, added Capt. Amarinder Singh.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family members, relatives and friends to bear this irreparable loss in this hour of grief.
