Punjab CM pained at death of veteran party leader Buta Singh

Chandigarh, January 2: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday mourned the sad demise of the veteran Congress leader and former Union Minister Buta Singh (86), who passed away in AIIMS Delhi this morning. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.

          In his condolence message, Captain Amarinder Singh said that he is pained to learn about the death of the veteran Congress leader and eight time Lok Sabha MP, former Union Minister, Ex-Governor of Bihar and former Chairman National Commission for Scheduled Castes, who worked relentlessly for the welfare and upliftment of the poor and downtrodden sections of the society till his last breath.

          Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family, relatives and friends, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give strength to bear this irreparable loss and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
