Patiala, November 2: In a breakthrough, Punjab police on Thursday claimed to have busted an ISI-supported terror module in Patiala, with the arrest of an operative from whom a hand grenade was seized among other arms.
The accused, identified as Shabnamdeep Singh of Daftari Wala Burar village in Patiala, was to carry out terror attacks in crowded places, including police stations, and he was to receive Rs 10 lakh for each attack from abroad.
Cops claimed he also had links with New York-based advocacy group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) and had recently launched Khalistan Gadar Force that was reportedly being backed by the ISI.
The police also seized a pistol, six bullets, a mobile phone and a motorcycle from him. He was produced before a local court, which sent him to five-day police remand.
