Chandigarh, May 18: The Punjab Government has decided to broadcast the curriculum/programme on the DD Punjabi to prevent the loss of education of children of government schools due to lockdown.
According to a spokesperson of the education department, the telecast for class IX will be from 9 am to 11.15 am tomorrow from May 19, 2020 and there will be a break from 10 am to 10.15 am. Similarly, the telecast time for Class X will be from 11.15 am to 1.45 pm and there will be a break from 12.45 pm to 1.15 pm. According to the spokesperson, the telecast time for primary classes (3rd, 4th and 5th) will be from 1.45 pm to 2.45 pm.
A spokesperson of the education department further said that D.D. Punjabi will be telecasted on Free Dish on Channel No. 22, Airtel Dish on 572, Videocon D2H on 784, Tata Sky on 1949, Fastway Cable on 71, Dish TV on 1169, Sun Direct on 670 snd Reliance Big TV on 950.
According to the spokesperson, the school education department has already started the education progrmme on DTH for 7th and 8th class students from April 20, 2020 to ensure smooth flow of education to the students.
These Curriculum / programmes are being broadcasted through D.D. Free Dish’s channel number 117 and on Dish TVs channel number 939. The telecast for 7th class is from 9 am to 10 am and again retelecast from 4 pm to 5 pm. Similarly, for 8th class the telecast is from 10 am to 11 am and then re-telecast is from 5 pm to 6 pm.
The Director Education (SS) has written a letter in this regard to all the District Education Officers (SS) / (ES), Block Primary Officers and the School Heads. He said that the school heads will get the feedback of these programmes on daily basis and ensure that the concerned teachers will also watch these programs.
The teachers will be in constant touch with the students and will pass on the time table and schedule of these programs to them. He directed all the officers to coordinate for the success of the campaign launched for the education of the students.
