In a press release issued here today, Sukhpal Khaira said the alliance has been forged to liberate Punjab from the clutches of corrupt traditional parties of Congress, SAD-BJP that have looted the state turn wise for the past many decades.
Speaking on behalf of the alliance, Khaira said as a result of the misrule of said traditional parties Punjab was facing a colossal debt of Rs. 2.5 lac crores. The alliance leaders reiterated that they stand committed on issue based, clean and accountable politics and their aim is not only sharing of Lok Sabha seats but to work for the betterment of Punjab.
The alliance will struggle for the long-pending demands of Punjab be it the river waters, the territorial disputes, our rightful claim to the capital city of Chandigarh and a true federal system with more powers and autonomy to the states.
Khaira said the alliance would continue its tirade to ensure justice on the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib ji and the Behbal Kalan killings, on which the Capt. Amarinder Singh government seems to be dragging its feet and unwilling to punish powerful people like Sumedh Singh Saini ex DGP, Sukhbir Singh Badal ex Dy.CM and Parkash Singh Badal ex CM.
Khaira said it was unfortunate that the Akali Dal Taksali unilaterally announced their candidate for the Anandpur Sahib seat while deliberations under the PDA were still going on. He said the PDA strives for complete unity of the opposition ranks and urges the leaders of Akali Dal Taksali to withdraw their candidature from Anandpur sahib seat and join the alliance umbrella in the larger interest of Punjab.
Those present at the meeting included Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi MP of Punjab Manch, Rashpal Singh Raju President BSP Punjab, Randhir Singh Beniwal Incharge BSP Punjab, Simarjit Singh Bains President Lok Insaaf Party, Gurpartap Singh Khushalpur PAC member PEP, Jaswinder Singh Khalsa of LIP and Dr. J.S.
