Chandigarh, January 18: The state government has decided to send a panel of all nine eligible DGP-rank officers to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) instead of the required panel of five officers. Till the new DGP is appointed by the Central government, which may take considerable time, the incumbent Punjab DGP Suresh Arora will continue on the post.
This decision comes in the face of the development where Punjab DGP Suresh Arora had expressed his unwillingness to accept the extension given to him by the Centre. However, he agreed to continue till the new DGP is appointed.
