Punjab election commission postpones byelection to gram panchayats

Chandigarh, June 1: The Punjab Election Commission has postponed the by-elections to gram panchayats to fill vacant seats of sarpanches and panches.

Announcing this, Jagpal Singh Sandhu, State Election Commissioner, said the by-elections to gram panchayats had been postponed in view of the coming Budget Session this month.

He said the next date for holding the bypolls would be announced in due course of time. The instructions in this regard have been issued to all departments concerned.
