Chandigarh, August 4:
Landless, marginal or small farmers in cultivating possession and occupying government land for a period of 10 years or more as on first day of January, 2020 are eligible for allotment of government land. For this, they need to apply to the concerned Sub Divisional Magistrate for the allotment of land. The eligible applicants would be allotted land after the payment of the price prescribed in the Act, informed Ravneet Kaur, Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, Punjab.
The State of Punjab has enacted “The Punjab (Welfare and Settlement of Landless, Marginal and Small Occupant Farmers) Allotment of State Government Land Act, 2021” for the welfare of landless, marginal and small farmers as per which such farmers can apply for land allotment. The application alongwith copies of revenue record showing such occupation and cultivating possession of land can be submitted to the SDM concerned by paying fees of Rs. 100/-.
