Chandigarh, December 30: Punjab Large Industrial Development Board Chairman Pawan Dewan today said that the Capt. Amarinder Singh government is continuously working for industrial development in the state, because of which new industry has emerged in the state. At the same time, the old industries are once again on the path of progress. These words were uttered by the Dewan during a meeting with a special delegation of the NRI community from UK at the Board’s office in Udyog Bhawan.
Dewan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh the state is on the path of progress.
In this direction, under the Invest Punjab scheme, new industry is being brought in the state. At the same time, the old industry has been revived. Dewan said that one cannot think of the development of the state without industrial development which also provides employment to a large number of people. Dewan also apprised about the various schemes introduced by the state government to provide relief to the industries and he also appealed to the NRI community to invest here to contribute in the development of Punjab. The NRI community in particular can make a significant contribution to the education and health sectors of the state.
Jatinder Singh (Jhinda Shergill), President Indian Overseas Congress, Birmingham, UK, said that the NRI community, despite being miles away from the country, is attached to the soil. He said that from time to time the NRI community contributes for the development of their villages. He also lauded the work being done by the Captain Amrinder Singh government for the strengthening of the NRI community.
