Punjab government put a full stop on plundering of common man by closing toll plazas: Harbhajan Singh ETO

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has put a full stop on the plundering of common people by closing nine toll plazas during its tenure of one year.

Expressing satisfaction on this feat, Punjab Public Works Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that keeping the interests of the people of the state in mind, these toll plazas have been shut down and more such toll plazas will also be closed in coming days.

Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that the Punjab Government has closed down a total of nine toll plazas namely Kiratpur Sahib-Nangal-Una 1, Hoshiarpur-Tanda 1, Ludhiana-Sangrur 2, High Level Makhu Bridge 1, Balachaur-Dasuya (Balachaur-Garhshankar-Hoshiarpur-Dasuya) 3, Patiala-Samana-Patran 1 etc. in a year, which were plundering the people by surpassing all the conditions of the agreement.

The Cabinet Minister said that the previous government acted as a shield to the defaulters and ignored the autocracies of the toll plaza companies due to their own vested interests. He said that these toll plaza companies were not providing service as per the agreements. He said that despite the agreement on these respective plazas, there was no arrangement of ambulance and recovery van at the toll plazas. He said that the previous governments did not take any action against these irregularities of toll plaza companies.

The PWD Minister said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is protecting the interests of the people of the state and will continue to do so in future. He said that the state government has taken decisions of public interest as soon as it assumed charge and this process will continue. He said that the state government’s decision to provide government jobs to 28 thousand youth of the state, up to 300 units of free electricity per month, commencement of more than 500 Aam Aadmi clinics and immediate release of compensation for crop damage etc. shows the commitment of the state government.
