Punjab Govt announces major reprieve for Transporters

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 23:

In a major reprieve to the transporters in the state, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today announced that the transporters could deposit their outstanding tax without any penalty or arrear in next three months.

The Chief Minister said that the promise made with the transporter brethren was being fulfilled today. “We will stand by the transporter always in the time of need as this sector is the backbone of economy” said the CM.

Bhagwant Mann mentioned that this decision of the Punjab Government would be a great help to transporters, who could not have deposited their motor tax due to COVID pandemic. Now, they can deposit their dues without any penalty and arrear within next three months, he added.
