Punjab govt develops app for reporting illegal mininig activities

Chandigarh/ Rupnagar, June 11 :

The Punjab Govetnmment has devleoped an Android app for efficient monitoring of complaints pertaining to mining activities. This android app would be helpful to reduce false complaints.

Disclosing this in a press communique Mrs. Sonali Giri, Deputy Commissioner said that the users in this app will be all Deputy Commissioners, all Senior Superintendent of Police and all Executive Engineer-cum-District Mining Officers with Director Mining as Administrative Head.

She said that this app is available on Google play store in the name of “PunjabMines” and every android user will be able to access this app and submit his/her complaint in case of any unlawful mining activity. While submitting the complaint by the complainant, his/her co-ordinates (Latitude, Longitude) will be automatically fetched by this app and it will be directly submitted to the concerned Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police and Executive Engineer-cum-District Mining Officer for further action.
