Punjab govt extends timings of Sewa Kendras, Sanjh Kendras

Date:

Chandigarh, April 7:

On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state government has enhanced the daily timings of all 320 Sewa Kendras and 506 Saanjh Kendras across the State and would also now remain open on Sundays. This pro-people decision would come into force from April 15, 2022.

Terming this initiative as people friendly, Bhagwant Mann said it would be instrumental in delivering the more citizen centric services promptly to the public in a seamless manner.

Notably, Saanjh Kendras are at all district headquarters, sub-division and police station level (called as Police Station Out Reach Centres).

According to an official spokesperson, the timings of Sewa Kendras and Saanjh Kendras across the state have now been extended by two hours daily on weekdays, i.e. from Monday to Friday and these will now remain open from 8 AM to 6 PM as against 9 AM to 5 PM earlier. Sewa Kendras and Saanjh Kendras would now also be open on every Sunday and the timings for citizens to avail services on Saturdays and Sundays will be from 8 AM to 4 PM.
