Reiterating Chief Minister S. Charanjit Singh Channi led Punjab Government’s firm commitment to back farmers in repealing black laws, Punjab Local Bodies, Parliamentary Affairs, Elections and Grievance Redressal Minister, Mr Brahm Mohindra said that Punjab has emerged as the lone state across the country to raise voice against these laws by calling a special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
He was interacting with media here, today, evening, after getting guard of honour and formal and warm welcome from the administration and his supporters at Circuit House, Patiala. He added that the Punjab Government did not allow the stagnation in the pace of development works during the Covid and all the works are being carried out in full swing to complete them on time.
District Administration officials who present here to welcome Mr Brahm Mohindra, included Divisional Commissioner Chander Gaind, Deputy Commissioner Mr Sandeep Hans, SSP Dr Sandeep Garg, Commissioner Corporation Mrs Punamdeep Kaur, SP City Varun Sharma, ADC (Urban Development) Mr Gautam Jain, SDM Mr Charanjit Singh. The Cabinet Minister in a meeting with the officials directed to expedite the ongoing development works and asked them to make sure to extend the benefits of all the welfare schemes to the needy.
During his interaction, he said that Punjab Cabinet under the leadership of S. Charanjit Singh Channi has already condemned the tragic incident that took place at Lakhimpur Khiri in Uttar Pradesh and expressed his condolences to the victims. Besides, Punjab Chief Minister also joined Mr Rahul Gandhi today to share the grief of the aggrieved families, there, he said.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government had rejected twice, all the three black laws related to agriculture passed by the Union Government by calling special session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha but the Governor did not forward them to the President. Apart from this, the Punjab government has extended the helping hand to the distressed farmers’ families who have lost their earning hands to the struggle by providing jobs and financial assistance to the heirs of the deceased farmers. He said that in Patiala district, such 14 families would be given job letters, in a day or two.
Mr Brahm Mohindra thanked Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Mr Rahul Gandhi and the Chief Minister for re-inducting him in the Punjab Ministry as a Cabinet Minister and said that he would remain in his constituency every weekend to ensure timely completion of development works. He said that the plenty of development works have been carried out in the last four and half years, in 27 wards and 60 villages of Patiala fallinh in rural constituency as compared to last three and half decades.
Thanking the people present on the occasion, Mr Brahm Mohindra said that he and his whole family would always remain indebted to them for reposing faith in him.
due to his huge responsibility in the Punjab Government, even though the cowardice had hindered some interaction with the people, he assured the people that he and his family would always be there. He said that he would always stand firmly with the residents of Patiala rural constituency to redress their problems.
