Chandigarh, January 11: Most parts of Punjab and Haryana reeled under cold weather conditions on Thursday as Adampur became the coldest place recording a minimum temperature of 3.2 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh recorded a low of 6.6 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal, a MeT department official said.
In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal recorded the minimum temperatures at 8 degrees, 5.1 degrees and 5.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Narnaul, Rohtak and Bhiwani recorded 4 degrees, 7.7 degrees and 5 degrees Celsius, respectively, the official said.
In Punjab, Amritsar experienced cold weather conditions at 4.5 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana and Patiala shivered at 8.3 degrees and 8.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, the MeT said.
Bathinda, Halwara and Pathankot in the state recorded 4.6 degrees, 4 degrees and 4.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The MeT official said the weather remained clear at most places in the neighbouring states.
