Date:

CHANDIGARH, January 1:

Acceding to the demand of the MSME Industrialists, Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Gurkirat Singh has further extended the relief being given to plot holders of PSIEC from September 16, 2021 to December 31, 2021.

Notably, this is for the third time that the Punjab Government has announced zero period for all intents and purposes and no interest/ penal interest shall be charged by PSIEC during the said period. Owing to the unprecedented disruption caused by the first and second wave of COVID-19, earlier, the Punjab Government had given relief to the plot holders for the period including March 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020 and March 15, 2021 to September 15, 2021.

“Keeping in view the economic slowdown and resultant disruption in supply chain as a result of COVID-19 Pandemic in previous years, We have decided to further extend the already existing policy of the relief to the plot holders from September 16, 2021 to December 31, 2021,” said Industries Minister Gurkirat Singh.

Meanwhile, Industries Minister assured to further extend the relief period in case such unprecedented situation arises again due to COVID-19 in near future.
