Punjab new year Lohri bumper transforms destiny of West Bengal family

Punjab State Dear New Year Lohri Bumper-2021 has brought a new hope for a middle-class family of West Bengal. Sangita Choubey, a housewife, who teaches clay modelling and drawing to kids in part time, won the first prize of Rs.2.50 crore.

Feeling extremely happy Sangita (48) resident of Asansol (WB) said that she had never even dreamed of winning such hefty prize money in life but Punjab State New Year Lohri Bumper has made it possible. Her father-in-law had been buying lottery tickets but he never won such a big prize. He insisted that she should also try her luck and she bought a lottery ticket for the first time. Lady luck smiled at last on our family, she added.

After submitting the ticket and required documents to the State Lotteries Department today at Chandigarh for encashment of the prize, she said that her husband is working in the private sector and they have a daughter and two sons. The big prize money would be a great help for them to get their children settled in life and they would also be able to tide over financial problems after getting the prize money.

An official spokesperson of the Punjab State Lotteries Department said that this time the first prize of New Year Lohri Bumper of Rs.5 crore was to be given to the two winners Rs2.50 crore each. The results of the bumper were announced in a draw on January 15, 2021. Out of these, the winner of Ticket A-322070, Sangita has submitted the documents and the prize money will be credited to the winner’s account soon. Notably, the first prizes of bumper lotteries issued by the Punjab government are announced from the sold tickets and Punjab is the only state in the country to do so.
