Jalandhar, April 23: A 30-year-old Punjab Police female Sub Inspector went ahead and tied a knot with the only love of her life. But this was not an ordinary marriage, as the highly reputed officer with Punjab police broke all the barriers and chose to go for same sex marriage.
Yes, it is true, an extraordinary courage shown by the police officer was appreciated on social media and some also went ahead to criticise her. The officer identified as Manjit Kaur tied the knot at Pucca Baugh in Punjab on Saturday.
The video of their marriage ceremony went viral within hours it was posted on social media. Reports suggested that the marriage took place in their colony and was carried out as per Hindu rituals. Many of Manjit’s classmates and her colleagues (Police officers) also participated in the wedding and offered their blessings to the newly married couple.
The special part was that this same-sex marriage took place with the consent of both the families. Both the girls refused to comment on anything on their marriage.
