IS BEING KILLED FOR ONES RELIGIOUS BELIEFS JUSTIFIED?
IS RELIGION REALLY ONES FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT?
WHY IS THE FAMILY MADE TO SUFFER?
Month after RSS sanghi Ravinder Gosain murder, Punjabi Khurki pieces together his family’s life
Ravinder Gosain, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader of Ludhiana, was shot dead reportedly by two armed assailants near his house on October 17. Even as Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced Rs 5 lakh compensation for the deceased’s family and a government job for one of his progeny, the National Investigation Agency has registered a case and further investigation is underway.
The family has since been trying to piece its life back together. Gosain came from a very humble background. Though not very financially sound, he had earned himself great respect from the people of his area. He was actively involved in working towards various social causes and was an RTI activist too, having picked up crucial issues.
Aged 59 years, he was born in Batala and was brought up along with four siblings. He moved to Ludhiana in 1982 and got married to Sudesh Rani and had four children. A tailor by profession, Gosain got impressed with the policies of RSS since a very early age of 9 years. He then virtually grew with it and became a ‘Mukhya Shikshak’ of the Mohan Shakha of RSS in Ludhiana and was also the office bearer of district Bharatiya Janata Party.
Unfortunately, his seven-year-old grandson witnessed the killing when the two assailants fired at the RSS leader. Gosain suffered two bullet injuries, one in the head and another in the shoulder.
How long will the family of Ravinder Gosain wait for justice?
Till when will we keep playing in the hands of perpetrators of terror?
When will everyone come together to counter terror?
