Punjab school education department directs to ensure enrollment of single parents children in schools

Keeping in view the problems of single parents, the Punjab school education department has issued instructions to enroll their children in schools without any hindrance.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the school education department said that at present the names of both the mother and father of the child is required to be filled on the admission form. As a result, single parents are finding it difficult to enroll their children in schools. Due to this, the director school education (senior secondary) has issued a letter to the district education officers and school heads in this regard. All heads of government, government-aided, aided and unaided schools have been directed not to deny admission to the children of parents living alone for any reason.
