Chandigarh, April 19

The Punjab School Education Department has taken new steps to renew its strategy to expedite the enrollment drive for the new academic session.

On the instructions of Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, to expedite the enrollment drive, center head teachers (CHT) have been directed to held regular meetings with school heads. CHTs have also been asked to organize separate review meetings with the Pre-primary and primary teachers and to encourage them through phone calls.

According to the spokesperson of school education department, the teachers have been asked to honor the pre-primary and primary school children for their achievements while going door-to-door for enrollment and to click photos with them and make them viral on social media. Directions have also been given to make announcements from religious places, to put admission flexes in common places, to motivate parents to visit the school and to increase enrollment with the help of Anganwadi workers. The clusters or schools with higher enrollment than the previous academic session have been asked to make the poster and share it in groups and appreciate the entire staff.

Apart from focusing exclusively on the education of the children coming from private schools and updating the newly admitted children daily on e-Punjab, the teachers have been instructed to provide books and supplementary material to the students while visiting door to door.
