Punjab speaker congratulates cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan, on Friday, congratulated Harmanpreet Kaur on becoming captain of Indian women cricket team.

Extending heartiest greetings to Harmanpreet and her family, the Speaker said that the daughter of Moga city of Punjab brought laurels for the state and made her parents proud, adding that “Punjab’s daughters are shining in each sphere of the life.”

He said that Harmanpreet Kaur’s achievement will inspire other daughters of the state to excell in sports arena. The contribution of women-hood is very important for the progress of the society, said the Speaker, adding that clinching a tag of becoming the first Indian woman cricketer to score a century in an international Twenty20 match, Harmanpreet has achieved a lot while representing the Indian team, for which she has been bestowed with the coveted Arjuna Award.
