Chandigarh, November 17: The winter session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will be held for three days, from November 27 to November 29, 2017.
This was decided at a meeting of the state cabinet, which also agreed to meet every Wednesday at 3 p.m. to ensure smooth functioning of the government, with timely decisions to boost the momentum of reforms initiated by the Congress regime.
With the Cabinet decision, the Punjab Governor has been authorised to convene the 3rd session of 15th Punjab Vidhan Sabha as per Article 174 (I) of the Constitution of India.
The Cabinet, at its meeting today, congratulated Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for the hassle-free procurement of paddy despite the record rice production in the state. Even Basmati production in Punjab had gone up by around 60% in this season, the Chief Minister, who chaired the meeting, was informed.
Captain Amarinder lauded the concerned department and officials for the excellent management of the procurement operations and expressed the hope that this would lead to the revival of agriculture in the state and come as a relief to the distressed farmers.
