Can anyone in India forget the demonitisation days? The answer surely is a big no! Those days wreaked havoc in almost everyone’s life. This country was in a whirl. Anyway, guess, it’s getting too much of a serious talk. Let’s give it a light-hearted twist — with the upcoming Punjabi film Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua.
Releasing on Baisakhi, this film is a humorous take on demonitisation or better said, a humorous way of presenting the subject. Directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary, it is a Rhythm Boyz Entertainment film that stars Harish Verma and Simi Chahal in the lead roles.
With a happy-go-luck demeanour, Harish takes pride in saying that he was born to act. He may have been seen in films around 2010, but he has been acting since 2009. He was seen in many hits and is quite a familiar face in Punjabi cinema.
There has been a great shift in the way Punjabi films are being made — the expertise, the production, the editing and Simi Chahal is elated at being associated with the industry. So, when you ask her about moving to Bollywood, she says, “All that matters to me is the character I play. Language is no bar.
