Punjab Youth Development Board Chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra on Tuesday inaugurated an inter-circle shooting competition in the local shooting range in Rakh Bagh, here.
After formally inaugurating the competition, PYDB chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra said that the tournament is being organized under aegis of Mission Tandarust Punjab.
Sukhwinder Singh Bindra said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is giving special attention to the grooming of the youths through such tournaments so that they could excel in sports competitions at the national and international levels and can make their state and families proud.
He added that the Punjab government is leaving no stone unturned for this noble cause so that Punjab can become a hub of sports in the country.
He asked the youths to play the game with utmost dedication and hard work to excel in the arena of sports. He said that every effort is being made to ensure the holistic development of players so that they can compete across the globe.
The chairman also handed over cheque of Rs 11000 to state level gold medalist para-shooter Amandeep Singh of Ludhiana and assured full support to him.
He said that it is a matter of great honour for all Punjabis that Amandeep has made a niche in the game with his sheer hard work and dedication.
Lauding the players participating in the event, Bindra said that the sportspersons are blessed with special qualities and one of them is that they develop a team spirit during the game, which could help them to excel in their lives.
He also met the players and asked the players to participate in this mega-event in a big way .
Prominent among present on the occasion included District Sports Officer Ravinder Singh, coaches Gurjeet Singh, Priya, Harveen Singh, Gurvinder Singh Jolly, Dev Aggarwal and Nitin Tandon, besides several others.
