Chandigarh, April 16
The office of Chief Electoral Office Punjab commemorated the 130th birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar by holding an online quiz competition.
Today the results were announced in a Faceboook live event. Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Dr.Karuna Raju announced the winners who have won cash prizes and commendation certificates.
The quiz competition was based on the events and life of Dr. B R Ambedkar and the questions based on the writeups posted in the second phase of the electoral literacy campaign run under the title of “Constitution based approach to Democracy”.
Dr. S. Karuna Raju, IAS, CEO, Punjab urged people to become more vigilant citizens and equip with knowledge about Indian constitution, which is the core book according to which Indian government and democracy is deemed to be run.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Smt.Madhvi Kataria IAS, looking after the SVEEP activities thanked the people for their overwhelming participation in the competition which was open to all and a total of 2723 people took part in the online quiz.
The names of the winners are as below:
First Prize: Sh. Saurbh Tandon, Ludhiana district
Second Prize: Sh. Mukesh Singh, Pathankot district
Third Prize: Sh. Harish Kumar, Bathinda district
“Constitution based approach to Democracy” was initiated by the O/o CEO, Punjab with an aim to ensure familiarity with the Constitution of India. In the first phase, 27 articles were shared on social media on a daily basis and subsequently 8 videos were shared to summarize these articles. In the second phase, 9 articles were shared from February 18 to March 9.
Winners of the quiz competition shall be given a cash prize along with certificates of merit.
