Bhavnagar (Gujarat), February 26: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday vowed that the state government will maintain law and order in the state and no one will be allowed to disturb its hard-earned peace.
Interacting with the media here today, the Chief Minister said that the state and its people had suffered a lot due to the black days in the past. “They want peace and progress and no one will be allowed to disturb the hard earned peace of state,” he said.
Bhagwant Mann said that though some fissiparous forces are continuously trying to derail the peace and progress of state but their nefarious designs will not be allowed to succeed.
Making a scathing attack, the Chief Minister said that those who shamefully took shield of Sri Guru Granth Sahib to enter in Police station can’t be waaris of Punjab. He said this is an unpardonable crime which must be condemned by one and all.
Bhagwant Mann said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib is source of inspiration for all of us and we must take inspiration from it rather than take its cover for protection from unlawful activities.
The Chief Minister said that some people who are being funded from across the border are trying to destabilise peace and progress in the state. He said that such people are acting as puppets in hand of Pakistan to ruin the state. However, Bhagwant Mann said that the brave Police of Punjab is capable to safeguard the interests of the state and its people.
The Chief Minister unequivocally said that anything, except hatred and divisiveness, can grow on the fertile land of state. He said that the law and order in state was perfect due to which companies from across the globe are making beeline to invest in state. Bhagwant Mann said that due to strenuous efforts of the state government, Punjab will shine in every sphere during the coming six months.
Taking the Union government by the horns, the Chief Minister said that the Governors appointed by the centre are acting as star campaigners of the saffron party in the respective states.
He said that it is unfortunate the Raj Bhawans have turned into BJP headquarters for dictating the elected governments. However, Bhagwant Mann categorically said that in democracy elected and not the selected persons appointed from Union government are supreme.
The Chief Minister said that earlier the traditional parties used to ask votes in the divisive agenda. However, he said that the a paradigm shift has been witnessed in the political system since entry of AAP, which has forced the traditional parties to reset their agenda. Bhagwant Mann said that for the first time agenda has been based on quality education and health services due to efforts of AAP.
“AAP is a party of warriors who can do anything for the well being of people. We are not afraid of the misuse of CBI and ED by the Union government and will continue to serve the people without any fear. ” – Bhagwant Mann
The Chief Minister further said that after assuming the charge his government is making concerted efforts to restore the glory of state and cherish the aspirations of our great national leaders. He said that in mere 11 months of its tenure the state government has fulfilled the major guarantees promised to people adding that top priority is being accorded to health, education and employment sectors. Bhagwant Mann said that so far 500 Aam Aadmi Clinics have been dedicated to the people to provide quality health facilities to the people of Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that within the first few months of the formation of this government, more than 26,000 youths have been given appointment letters for government jobs and the entire recruitment has been done purely on the basis of merit and transparency.
He said that it is for the first time that the process of filling 2100 posts in Punjab Police has been issued and it has been decided to fill 1800 posts of Constables and 300 Sub-inspectors every year in coming four years. Bhagwant Mann said that state government is laying major thrust on putting the state on high growth trajectory of industrial development to open new vistas of employment for youth.
The Chief Minister said that the days of long cuts have ended in the state as Punjab is heading towards becoming power surplus. He said that due to the efforts of his government the power generation in the state has been enhanced by 83%. Bhagwant Mann said that owing to strenuous efforts made by his government the supply of coal for power generation from Pachwara coal mine has resumed after a long time.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has fulfilled the guarantee of giving 300 units of free electricity per month from July 1. He said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that 87% of the households in the state have zero electricity bill in the months of November-December, 2022. Bhagwant Mann said that he hails from a common family and knows well what are the problems being faced by them.
The Chief Minister said that due to massive efforts of Punjab government, entrepreneurs have shown huge enthusiasm for investment in the state. He said that even the steel giant Tata Steel has made an investment in the state which is second largest after its investment in Jamshedpur. Bhagwant Mann said that several global companies are also coming in the state to invest in a big way.
The Chief Minister quipped that earlier the industries used to sign MOUs with the families in power but ever since he has assumed charge of government, the agreements are signed for people of state. He said that earlier the affluent families used to get benefit of these agreements but now Punjabis will enjoy its fruits. Bhagwant Mann said that this is because his government is working untiringly for the well being of every strata of society.
The Chief Minister said that 117 Schools of Eminence have been set up in 23 districts of the state to provide quality education to children. Bhagwant Mann said that this will help the students to groom well for the future competitive exams. He said that no stone is being left unturned for the holistic development of the state and the day is not far when pristine glory of Punjab will be restored.
