Raja Warring exposes hooliganism of private bus operators at ISBT-43 Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 2:

Punjab Transport Minister Mr. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, on Tuesday, exposed hooliganism of employees of private bus operators, who were threatening drivers and conductors of government buses at ISBT-43 Chandigarh. On the Minister’s direction, a private bus was impounded and employees of the private operator were handed over to police.

Giving details of the incident, Mr. Raja Warring informed that driver Avtar Singh of PUNBUS Volvo Super Integral bus (PB 04 AA-7439) en-route to Ludhiana-Sri Muktsar Sahib, called him up saying that employees of Jujhar Transport Company -Adda In-charge Manjeet Singh and Contractor Rajveer Singh- are creating nuisance by stopping the bus from leaving and disembarked the passengers. “After getting driver call, I immediately rushed to the spot and called the police”, said Mr. Raja Warring, adding that he asked the police to impound the bus of Jujhar Transport Company and arrest the employees of the private company.

The Transport Minister said that the PUNBUS Depot Sri Muktsar Sahib was operating two Volvo Super Integral buses from Chandigarh to Ganganagar via Ludhiana, Moga, Sri Muktsar Sahib and the said bus was about to leave at scheduled time of 02.05 PM as fixed by the Secretary, State Transport Authority, UT Chandigarh vide its memo no. 3723/STA/2018 dated 25/04/2018, but the employees of Jujhar Transport Company forcibly stopped the government Volvo bus and disembarked all the passengers.

The Transport Minister reiterated, “No private operator or his employee would be allowed to create ruckus. If any person is found indulging in such an act in future, strict legal action would be initiated against him.”
