CHANDIGARH, Nov 3 : The Punjab Government would be represented in the ‘World Food India-2017’ event on November 4 in New Delhi by Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh who would be attending the event on behalf of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. This 3 day event would see the participation of representatives from more t8han 60 countries, 29 states and top notch officials from more than 350 companies. The highlight of the National level event would be a presentation about the ease of business and investment opportunities besides facilities being granted by the Punjab Government.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has conducted a series of high level meetings with the several eminent industrialists to attract investments in the State and his untiring efforts would result in the inking of more than 3 dozen agreements with the representatives of many reputed companies during the ‘World Food India-2017’ event. These agreements would lead to the investment to the tune of Rs. 2300 crore in Punjab. The spokesman further added that the constructive trade and commerce scenario owing to the pro-industrial policies of the Punjab Government is likely to propel the scale of investments in the state.
Disclosing more, the spokesman said that as of now, 4 Mega Food Parks and 17 Cold Chain projects are implemented/completed in the state. Apart from these, Punjab has ample potential waiting to tapped in terms of the food processing sector for which the State Government is providing all the requisite facilities.
