Razia Sultana hands over job letters to 22 candidates on compassionate ground

Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister, Ms. Razia Sultana, on Thursday handed over appointment letters to 22 candidates on compassionate grounds here at Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration. Notably, 21 candidates have been appointed under Group ‘D’ category and 1 candidate under Group ‘C’ category in water supply and sanitation department.

Ms Sultana said that the Chief Minister S. Charanjit Singh Channi led Punjab Government is committed to provide employment opportunities to the youth of the state. Assuring to safeguard the interests of all the sections of the society, she said that it was the duty and would be an honour for the state government to provide jobs to kin of employees who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Congratulating newly-appointed employees, Ms. Razia Sultana implored them to perform their duties diligently as the government has fulfilled its responsibility by providing jobs to them. The responsibility on the shoulders of a particular person increased many fold after joining the government service, she added.

She further said that 30 appointment letters were handed over in August 2021, 28 in April 2020 and 43 in July 2020. Apart from this, 11 applications for appointment on compassionate grounds are under process and the department intends to process all such requests on priority.

Principal Secretary Water Supply and Sanitation Ms. Jaspreet Talwar, HoD Mr. Amit Talwar and other officials were also present on the occasion.
