Revenue officer fails to clear exam, demoted

Chandigarh, July 18: Seven years after being promoted as District Revenue Officer (DRO), Paramjit Singh Sahota has been reverted to Naib Tehsildar after the officer failed to clear the departmental examination within the stipulated time period.

The orders have been issued by the Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Revenue) Vini Mahajan.

Appointed as Tehsildar in 2013, Sahota was given seniority with effect from 1995 and was promoted as DROfrom February 2, 2011.

He was promoted as Tehsildar with the condition to clear the departmental exams during his probation period. But he could not clear the examinations held on August 28, 2017 and February 2, 2018. His name was even cleared for the PCS by the PPSC.
