RIMC Dehradun invites Applications for July 2023 term

Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Dehradun, Uttarakhand has invited applications from both boys and girls students for admission to Class VIII for the Term of July 2023. The written entrance examination for admission will be conducted at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan at Sector 15 in Chandigarh on December 3, 2022 (Saturday), informed Brig. Satinder Singh (Retd), Director Defence Services Welfare, Punjab here on Wednesday.

He informed that candidates appearing for the test should not be less than 11½ years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on July 1, 2023, i.e. they should have been born not earlier than July 2, 2010, and not later than Jan 1, 2012. They should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC i.e on 1 Jul 2023, he added.

The Written part of the examination will consist of three papers including English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, while, the viva-voce/interview will be held for only those candidates who qualify in the written exam and the date for the viva-voce will be intimated later, he said, adding that minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50%.

The Director said that the prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers can be obtained by making an online payment of Rs 600 for General Candidates and Rs 555 for SC/ST candidates on the RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in. On receipt of the payment, the prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers will be dispatched by Speed post only, he added.

He said that candidates can also send a Demand Draft to obtain the prospectus-cum-application form and booklet of old question papers by sending a written request with a demand draft of Rs 600 for General Candidates and Rs 555 for SC/ST candidates along with a caste certificate in favor of The Commandant RIMC Dehradun payable at SBI, Tel Bhavan (Code – 01576) Uttarakhand. The Address should be TYPED/WRITTEN clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with pin code and contact number, he said, adding that the RIMC will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit of prospectus caused by illegible or incomplete address.

He informed that applications in duplicate in the prescribed form and three passport size photographs, Birth Certificate, State Domicile Certificate, SC/ST Certificate, Certificate from Principal of the School, in original with photograph affixed on it duly attested, stating the date of birth and class in which the student is studying and photocopy of Aadhar Card.

Meanwhile, applications duly completed must reach Directorate Defence Services Welfare, Punjab, Sainik Bhawan at Sector 21D in Chandigarh on or before October 15, 2022. Applications received.
