Local Government Minister, Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that Punjab government has decided to spend approximately approximately Rs 7.73 crores on development works for the beautification of Amritsar city.
Minister for Local Government, Dr.Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is fully committed to provide basic facilities and clean environment to the people of the state. Under this series, development works are being conducted across the state.
Issuing a press statement, Dr.Inderbir Singh Nijjar said that the work of painting and general renovation (including lights) of Golden Gate Amritsar and construction of 12 feet fountains with colorful lights complete with mosaic tiles will be done at various places of Amritsar city .
Cabinet Minister further said that apart from this, B/S Khalsa College and GNDU Roadside levelling dressing and planting works will be done, bridges will be beautified by painting with cement based paint. Repair and beautification of green belt will also be done at District Shopping Center Amritsar, he said.
He said that similarly the repair and varnishing work of Sham Singh Atariwala memorial gate will be done. He also said that the work of planting saplings, ornamental plants and creepers etc. will also be done on various roads leading to the city, relaying of interlocking tiles on roads in 97 acres, painting of the central verge and repairing the footpath in kabir park under extension scheme will be done. He said that government has decided to carried out many other development works in the city of Amritsar.
Cabinet Minister further said that the dream of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is to provide basic facilities and a clean environment to the residents of the state. State government is making all possible efforts to fulfill this dream.
Minister has directed the officials of the department to follow the rules/ regulations of the government and ensure transparency and quality in the work of the department.
