Ropar, June 26: The SAD chose to lash out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here on Monday during a protest against the Congress government over the “hefty” taxes on petrol and diesel.
SAD vice-president and former Cabinet minister Daljit Singh Cheema focused on criticising AAP, particularly its local MLA Amarjit Singh Sandoa.
After Sandoa was attacked when he had gone to stop illegal mining near Nurpur Bedi recently, his personal assistant Jagpal, releasing a video on social media, had levelled allegations against Cheema over promoting mining mafia during the SAD-BJP regime.
While addressing a gathering on Monday, Cheema hit out at AAP and Sandoa.
He said Sandoa’s behaviour was condemnable and a high-level inquiry must be conducted over allegations against him by main accused Ajwinder Singh.
Ajwinder Singh had claimed that his mining business was legal and the MLA was demanding money to allow him run his business smoothly.
Later, talking to mediapersons, he said the state government must reduce the taxes on petrol and diesel to give relief to the common man.
