Samyukta Kisan Morcha announces nationwide roadblock on February 6

Date:

Sonepat, February 1

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has announced a nationwide road jam on February 6.

The organisation, which is a joint front of farmers spearheading the fight against three controversial agriculture laws that Parliament passed last September, held a press conference after a meeting on Monday. The morcha announced that farmers will block all national highways and state highways for three hours from 12 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, February 6.

Farmers have been demanding that the central government rescind three controversial laws—The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act—that Parliament had passed in September.
