Chandigarh, April 30:
Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan welcomes the announcement of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide financial assistance of Rs. 1500 per acre to farmers adopting direct sowing of paddy.
In a statement issued here, Sandhwan said that the state government led by CM Bhagwant Mann is working hard to promote crop diversification to control the depleting water table. “Latest announcement regarding financial assistance would further encourage state farmers for adopting direct sowing of paddy” he added.
He appealed to the farmers of the state to bring maximum area under direct sowing during this season instead of planting paddy in the traditional way.
