Sarari assures vacancies in defence services welfare dept will be filled soon

Chandigarh, August 10: In order to ensure hassle free services to ex-servicemen and family members of martyred soldiers, Chief Minister S Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government will soon fill all the vacancies in the Defence Services Welfare department. This was stated here today by Minister of Defence Services Welfare Minister Fauja Singh Sarari.

During his maiden visit to Directorate of Defence Services Welfare, the  Minister was informed that the amount of ex-gratia grant to the families of the martyred  soldiers has been increased from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore, in addition to a government job for a family member of the soldier.

Brig. Satinder Singh (Retd), Director Defence Services Welfare, Punjab informed the Minister about the ongoing schemes and the achievements of the department.

The Minister said that the CM Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government is fully committed to ensure every possible support to families of the martyr soliders and welfare of the ex-servicemen.

While lending ears to the problems of staff sympathetically, he also assured every possible help from government side for the betterment of the department and all the vacancies in the department will be filled to meet the shortage of officers/staff.

He also directed the officials to resolve all the issues of ex-servicemen on priority basis and ensure implementation of schemes in a transparent manner without any bias.
