SC Commission seeks report on casteist remarks against woman PCS officer

Chandigarh, March 19- The chairperson of Punjab State SC Commission Mrs Tejinder Kaur has sought a comprehensive report from the Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police in the incident of the casteist remarks made by against a woman PCS officer posted in Jalandhar.

Taking suo moto cognisance of the news published in Dainik Bhaskar on March 18, 2020 ‘Audio Viral of Casteist remarks by an agent against a woman PCS officer’, Mrs Tejinder Kaur (retired IAS Officer) said that the commissioner has taken the notice of the news item under Punjab State Commission For Scheduled Castes Act 2004 and has directed the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner Of Police for comprehensive probe in this incident and to submit the report by March 26, 2020, till 11 am. 

The Chairperson told that the probe must be conducted by Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner of Police.
