Scheduled Castes commission takes suo-moto notice regarding Lambi district

CHANDIGARH, August 3:

The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken a suo-moto notice regarding the incident of Lambi of Shri Mukatsar Sahib district, in which Dalit Youth was tied with Tractor and thrashed.

Ms. Tejinder Kaur, Chairperson of the commission, said that this was a shocking incident and had come to her knowledge through media reports. The commission has sought a detailed report from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shri Mukatsar Sahib by August 11, 2021 and also ordered to take stern action against the culprits in the case promptly.
