CM to personally bear the education expenses of Science Deep Singh

Chandigarh, July 2: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday announced that he would personally bear the entire expenses of the education of Science Deep Singh from Muktsar district, a youth who was proactively engaged in creating awareness amongst the masses about the ill effects of drug menace.

Science Deep Singh, escorted by SSP Muktsar Sushil Kumar, called on the Chief Minister here at CMO this evening.

Science Deep Singh from Chakk Sher Wala lost both his father and grandfather to of drugs, which prompted him to do something positive for the society especially to wean away the youth from the menace of drugs.

Lauding the efforts made by the youth, who has been playing a vanguard role in sensitizing drug addicts and their families by staging plays, skits and organizing singing competitions in the villages of Muktsar and other nearby districts, the Chief Minister impressed upon the other youngsters to emulate Science Deep Singh in his mission to contain the drug menace in his own humble way.

The Chief Minister also announced that the state government would upgrade the tailoring skills of his mother Simranjit Kaur to enable her to be gainfully employed.

Captain Amarinder Singh also asked the Deputy Commissioner to upgrade the skills of Science Deep Singh’s elder brother Karamjit Singh so that he could also be given a suitable job to earn livelihood with dignity.
