Panchkula, November 10: A 19-year-old youth, a resident of Sector 4, Panchkula, was found dead in his car with a bullet injury on his forehead on the Panchkula-Morni road this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Tanishq Bhasin, a second-year student of SD College, Chandigarh. Tanishq’s father Sunil Bhasin is an advocate in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Prime facie, the police are suspecting it to be a case of suicide as there was a bullet injury at the centre of his forehead, but they have not ruled out the murder angle also.
The Panchkula police recovered a German-made pistol and a bag from the car. Family members said their son could not have committed suicide and demanded a thorough probe into the incident. No suicide note was recovered from the car.
Panchkula ACP (Law and Order) Nupur Bishnoi said in the morning, a passerby informed the police about the car. After reaching the spot, the police opened the car with the help of a mechanic as it was locked from inside and found Tanishq’s body on the driver’s seat. The police also recovered his mobile phone from the car, she said.
The police also recovered a German-made pistol, which was lying close to Tanishq’s right hand.
Panchkula Police Commissioner AS Chawla said after preliminary investigation, they came to know about the owner of the white Toyota Corolla. The bag found in the car contained books, a laptop and a knife. The police were probing all angles and were collecting the call detail record of Tanshiq’s mobile phone, which was also found in the car, he said.
