Senior IPS officer gets three years rigorous imprisonment

New Delhi,February 1, 2018: The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ranchi has sentenced  Hem Chand, IPS, then Executive Director (Vigilance), Cooking Coal Limited (CCL), Ranchi to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. one lakh in a Disproportionate Assets case.

CBI had registered a case on January 12, 1992 against the accused on the allegations of possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs. 4.36 lakh (approx). After investigation, a chargesheet was filed on  June 18,1997 against the accused.

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
