Shahkot bypoll: Kohar’s son is SAD candidate

Date:

Jalandhar, March 29: SAD president Sukhbir Badal visited bypoll-bound Shahkot Assembly constituency on Wednesday. He announced Naib Singh Kohar, son of late ex-minister Ajit S Kohar, as the official candidate of his party.

He also roped in Aam Aadmi Party leader Amarjit Thind, who represents the Kamboj community in the constituency, into the SAD fold.

Then, Sukhbir tried his best to convince the voters that the Congress government in the state would be in power for just another year as the Assembly elections would be held alongside the next parliamentary poll.

“The PM has already made up his mind that the two elections will be held together throughout the country. Even the Election Commission has hinted in this direction. Congress will be in power only for one more year and not four years,” he said.
