Shikhar Dhawan reunites with ‘Jamaican Daler Mehndi’ Chris Gayle; Have a look!

Date:

India opener Shikhar Dhawan, who is known for his flamboyancy besides his destructive batting skills, met West Indies’ party-loving cricketer Chris Gayle recently and couldn’t resist sharing a fun-filled picture. “Look whom I met.. Jamaica’s very own Daler Mehndi @henrygayle.. Bolo tara ra ra #universalboss,” Dhawan captioned the picture on Twitter.

The 38-year-old Jamaican appeared in a Punjabi outfit and sported a turban, watching which Dhawan didn’t hesitate to compare him with India’s vibrant Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi.

Dhawan and Gayle were playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). Hyderabad ended the season being table-toppers and runners-up, while Punjab finished seventh in the points table.

Gayle was also a part of the West Indies team that outdid a star-studded World XI team by 72 runs in one-off the Hurricane relief T20 match at the Lord’s on Thursday.

Put in to bat, the West Indians rode on a solid 75-run opening stand between Gayle (18) and Evin Lewis (58 from 26 balls; 4×5, 6×5) and vital contributions from Marlon Samuels, Dinesh Ramdin and Andre Russell to put a strong 199/4 in their 20 overs.

In reply, only three World XI batsmen could manage to reach the double figures to be bundled out for a meagre 127 in 16.4 overs.
