Mohali, Feb 15: HC quashes show cause notice issued by Local bodies department to Mohali Mayor Kulwant Singh, allowed his petition.
Mohali, February 15, 2018: Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday quashed the show cause notice issued to Mohali Mayor Kulwant Singh.
Justice Daya Chaudhary pronounced the order and allowed the petition of Kulwant Singh. The court quashed the impugned show cause notice issued by the respondent State of Punjab.
The HC also gave liberty to State of Punjab to make proper investigation and follow all law and rules for taking action in future against petitioner.
Kulwant Singh had filed a petition in High Court seeking quashing of the show cause notice dated 4.1.2018 issued by Local bodies, Punjab for removal of the petitioner from the post of councilor of Municipal Corporation Mohali for alleged embezzlement of funds in purchase of a tree-pruning machine .
