Singla greets youngsters on Internal Education Day

Chandigarh, January 24: Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla Security, on Sunday, extended greetings towards youngsters of the state on International Education Day and National Girl Child Day, with hopes and prayers to attain the success in future.

In his tweet message, the Cabinet Minister said that “Education channelizes your inner energies, gives wings of flight to your dreams, & helps your personality bloom. This #InternationalEducationDay, let us pledge to gift education & contribute to the building of a brighter future, self-empowered individuals & progressive societies.”

On this occasion the Cabinet Minister also extended warm greetings on National Girl Child Day with an appeal to daughters to spend the day with firm resolution not to bow down before the conservative mindset.

He tweets “let us augment our efforts to ensure that young girls attain proper education & are encouraged to chase their dreams, for no society can progress without their participation!”.

He said that the Punjab Government has decided to celebrate ‘Dheeyan di Lohri’ in order to break the stereotype of celebrating the festival of boys alone.

Singla said that Punjab Government has provided smart phones to 1.74 lakh students for the facilitation online studies with the commitment to empower the younger generation through education.

The state government has also decided to implement 33% reservation for women in government jobs and 50% reservation for them in PRIs & ULBs.
