Sri Chamkaur Sahib, October 23: The Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Saturday announced the major industrial investment for the overall development of Sri Chamkaur Sahib Assembly constituency.
The Chief Minister said that the establishment of the industrial units would give a major boost to the development of the region besides ensuring ample job opportunities for the youth thus improving the economic standard of the people living in the area.
The Chief Minister disbursed the cheques worth Rs. 21 crore for development purposes to 56 villages.
Coming to the development centric measures, the Chief Minister announced 16 state of the art stadiums for Sri Chamkaur Sahib in order to inspire the youth to take sports.
Announcing a grant of Rs. 1 crore for the stadium coming up in the memory of the farmers of village Haripur alias Roadmajra who died during the ongoing anti- farm law agitation, Channi also released an amount of Rs. 25 lakh apart from Rs. 2.50 crore towards kickstarting of the construction of stadiums in the 6 villages of the constituency.
Afterwards, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the new building as part of upgrading the C.H.C. at Sri Chamkaur Sahib into a Sub Divisional Hospital at a cost of Rs. 10 crore.
He also said that the upcoming hospital would also see the installation of modern machinery worth Rs. 2 crore. The Chief Minister also announced reconstruction of the buildings of rural health as well as the veterinary dispensaries.
As part of bonanza for Sri Chamkaur Sahib constituency, the Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of 100 percent water supply and Sewerage and other development initiatives worth Rs. 9.57 crore.
The Chief Minister also urged the Sarpanches and Panchayat Members of the villages falling under the constituency to execute the development works without any discrimination and bias. Cautioning the officers present, Channi emphasized completion of all the projects with transparency and ensure quality.
